After more than a decade managing safety-critical operations in Canada's transportation sector, I saw the same pattern repeatedly, organizations with policies that looked good in binders but failed in the field. The problems were consistent: supervisors unsure of their responsibilities, investigations that found blame instead of root causes, and training that checked boxes but didn't change behaviour.

Alan brings hands on management experience in safety-critical operations within Canada's transportation sector. With experience leading teams at a Class 1 railway since 2018, he has managed high-risk environments, managed incident investigations, developed safety procedures, and trained supervisors at all levels. This isn't theoretical knowledge, it's real-world expertise built through years of frontline leadership and operational accountability.
